Details for the 11th Annual CANO Members’ Show 2024

The Community Arts Network of Oneonta announces its 11th Annual Members' Show! All CANO member are invited to exhibit and sell at least one work to be displayed in the Wilber Mansion galleries. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your work to the community and view the creative talents of local artists, colleagues and friends.

Important Dates:​

  • Artist Drop off- Friday, March 1 & Saturday, March 2, 12-2pm

  • Friday, March 8th, 5-8 pm: Opening Reception

  • Gallery HoursMarch 9th-23rd; Thursday, Friday, & Saturday, noon-3pm: Exhibition On View

  • Artist Pick up: Friday, March 29th & Saturday 30th (12-2 pm): Pick up artwork

Details about Entry Requirements:

Entry requirements: This exhibition is open to ALL members of CANO, ages 18 or older. Each member is limited to one large OR two small original works of art, completed within the last 5 years, which have NOT been previously exhibited at CANO. Due to space limitations, members are guaranteed that at least one piece will be accepted based on size on a first come, first served basis.

 

Membership: CANO Membership is required. You may become a new member or renew your membership at the time of registration. Apply and pay for a membership online or download the application and mail it along with your membership fee payable to CANO. https://www.canoneonta.org/become-a-member

Exhibition Fee: We now waive the exhibition fee for members!

Awards: This show is a celebration of the CANO community’s talents and there will be a PEOPLE’S CHOICE ballot for you & others to share the appreciation of fellow members’ work. 

 

Registration: Entry form must be submitted online, received by mail by 3pm on February 29th, or in person during artist drop off. Register & submit for the Members' Show using our Online Registration here, or Download 2024 Members' Exhibition Prospectus (at bottom of page) and mail or drop off in person during artist drop off dates to CANO, 11 Ford Ave, Oneonta NY 13820  

 

Artwork: Work must be ready to display with hardware or hanging wire; sculpture must be freestanding or ready to hang. All media are accepted. 1 large piece OR 2 smaller pieces with combined dimensions of:

 

  • 2-dimensional works: No larger than 48” x 48″ including frame/s. Works must be ready for hanging. No wet paintings or work requiring special installation will be accepted.

  • Wall mounted sculpture: No larger than 36″ H x 36″ W x 12″ D (40 lb. weight limit)

  • Sculpture: no larger than 36″ H x 36″ W x 36″ D

  • Video & installation: subject to approval & space limitations. You must provide all equipment. Please direct your email inquiry to Jamie Banes at jamie@canoneonta.org prior to registration.

 

Delivery: Artwork must be delivered in person to CANO’s Wilber Mansion at 11 Ford Ave. Oneonta, NY 13820 during the scheduled delivery times (see Important Dates above). Work must be labeled with your name, artwork title, media, & sale price (or NFS) on the back upper left corner before it enters the gallery.

 

Pick up: Artwork must be picked up in person during the scheduled pick-up times (see Important Dates above). If work is not picked up at scheduled pick-up dates/times and/or artist does not schedule an alternative pick-up date within 30 days, artwork will be discarded. 

 

Sales & Commission: Work is not required to be for sale. Sales will be made payable to CANO & applicable sales tax will be added. Within a month of the end of the exhibition, CANO will pay the artist 75% of the listed price and retain 25% commission for each work sold & paid for in full. In the event any artwork sells within 30 days of the end of the exhibition, but due to the buyer having seen it at the CANO gallery, the 25% commission will still be in effect. In this case, the Artist is responsible to pay CANO the commission fee by: April 21, 2024. Any shipping and handling costs related to artwork sales are the responsibility of the Artist.

Insurance/Liability: CANO cannot insure work/equipment, or be responsible for loss, theft or damage. We do the best to make sure that all work remains safe & undamaged, but you may wish to retain your own insurance. CANO reserves the right to use images of accepted work for promotional purposes. Submission of your entry indicates your acceptance of the rules of this show.
